Technology
Ladera has a computer lab equipped with 25 student computers. We also have 4 - 6 computers in each classroom. Our teachers have excellent technology tools such as visualizers and LCD projectors to enhance their curriculum. They also have Learn360 which is a media rich library designed to support standards based grade level lesson plans.
The software at Ladera is designed to support our students academic and technology goals. An example of programs used at Ladera are:
- Successmaker: Educational software intended to promote Language Arts and Math skills
- Scholastic Reading Counts: An independent reading program designed to develop students' vocabulary and comprehension skills
- Type 2 Learn: Engaging space themed keyboarding program
- Microsoft Office: Students learn about word processing, spreadsheets & multi-media publishing
- Inspiration7: Graphical Organizer - Learn about outline formatting
- Kid Pix: Multi-media graphics program for younger students
Everyday Math is a district sponsored internet based math program designed to allow students to practice their grade level math skills at home. Students will be provided with a user name and password to log on: everydaymathonline.com
Ladera is looking for Technology Sponsors to help keep the school computers up-to-date. Your monetary donation will allow us to buy hardware and software for the students' use. Donations of flat screen monitors are a welcome treat. They are energy-efficient, and take up less space than traditional CRT monitors. We'd greatly appreciate any donations you can offer us. Contact the school for more information.
